Day 10: LA and Hollywood
We started the day off early and
woke up around 6-6:30am in Anaheim’s Disney Land. We departed from the Anaheim RV Park around
7am and headed for the Hollywood Bowl.
Once
we arrived, we took a picture at the sign outside because we were not able to
go inside.
We then had research presentations outside of the Hollywood Bowl!

After finishing research presentations, we held
an audition to see who were the three loudest screamers in TWB; Shelby,
Richard, and Claire were our winners!
Once they were carefully chosen, we
headed down to Hollywood Blvd. where their talents were put to the test. Our
own counselor, Adam Bastug, played the role of a famous actor who made his
debut in the Walking Dead and starred in other movies such as Harry Potter’s
Fantastic Beasts and the new Jurassic World. Claire, Richard, and Shelby had to
scream as loud as they could and say, “Oh my goodness! It’s Adam Bastug! I love
you!” and made random strangers think Adam was actually a famous celebrity. The
rest of the TWB members supported the lead screamers and together we all
successfully completed our task!
A bunch of random strangers pushed their way
to Adam for a signature and many claimed they saw him in those movies. After 15
minutes of fooling strangers, Adam’s bodyguard, Katti, escorted him away from
the crowd and we all explored Hollywood.
Some TWB members went to In-and-Out
Burger and others shopped at the many stores and looked at the Hollywood walk
of fame stars.
We met back at the bus
around 11am and departed for UCLA. At
UCLA we walked around the campus, ate a delicious lunch (turkey, cheese,
lettuce, ranch, and PB&J tortillas with chips on the side and juice boxes),
and shopped at the UCLA bookstore.
We
then listened to a short Q&A about UCLA from a former TWB member named
Dana. After she answered all of our
questions, we hopped on the bus around 2pm and headed for El Captain State
Beach where we spent the night.
We arrived to our campsite around 5pm and set
up our sleeping bags. We had about two
hours of free time before dinner where many walked the beach and played
football around our campsite.
Tonight we
enjoyed a delicious dinner made by the Bashful group consisting of mac-n-cheese,
chicken nuggets, and pink lemonade. After dinner we had a sing along at 8:30pm
around a campfire and enjoyed s’mores.

After
a long day, lots of laughs, many stops, and a delicious dinner, we all relaxed
with a beachside few and fell fast asleep.
Tomorrow we drive up Highway 1 on our way to San Francisco, we are so excited!! Hello to everyone back home, we love you!!!
